ESG Label
Bursa Malaysia has officially launched its ESG Reporting Platform on 4 December 2023. In other words, this is a mandatory environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting for companies listed on the Main Market and ACE Market. The ESG Reporting of Bursa Malaysia is yet another initiative to improve sustainability reporting standards among listed issuers.
Therefore, we need to take cognizance of the reality of business and industries facing with the needs of ESG reporting; as well as the more stringent Greenhouse Gases or GHG emission reduction compliance. Relevance to this GHG emission reduction, is the European Union (EU)’s legislation on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Although the ESG Reporting is being implemented in a phased approach, it is a matter of time that this will become a mandatory requirement in the near future. Many companies may think that these requirements are not necessary for them since they are neither companies listed on the Main Market nor ACE Market. But, wait - are you sure you are not a downstream supplier of goods or networks to these companies or organizations?
So, why not start on this journey – make simple through the first step by getting a MAGBA Certified ESG Label?
